A map that is a wiki

I’m going to rave about this map:

Markus_map

It’s not just a google map…its a wiki map!

Here’s the story:
Another project we’ve been working on is Sustainable Route.
Ryan‘s sister, Ashley, is going on a 4(!) month roadtrip around the US.
She will visit different places that are setting the example of Sustainablity.
She will post a video at each place she visits…hopefully creating a portrait of what Sustainability really looks like in this country. A very smart way to use videoblogging.

A cool part of the story is that much of her trip is being funded by the community through Havemoneywillvlog. (Come up with your own Vlog project…and get it funded.)

During this process, we asked people to suggest places that practiced Sustainability that Ashley could visit on her trip. We got more suggestions than she could ever go visit…so Markus made the cool wiki map . Anyone can add a dot to the map…as well as a link and description of the place. In this way, we can create a snapshot of different places that are practicing sustainability. Go and add a place near your house.

The next step will be to get YOU to go shoot a video at one of the suggestions close to your home.
And then you add this video to the map.
Now things really will become exciting….and a real resource.
A collective video project based around a map that anyone can edit.
Wow.
